The owners started selling gas, burgers, and ice cream at this location in 1987.
Almost daily, customers would make comments like,
"That is the best burger I have ever had."
or
"That is the best burger I have had in a long time."

Finally in 1990, the name of the restaurant was changed to
"Iowa's Best Burger Café"

There is a limited menu for a good reason. All selections are the best quality available and have stood the test of time. The BBQ Beef is made from scratch right here and the tenderloins are real pork loin, not the smashed out and processed fritters sold at most locations.
